Lulu and Unilever launch the 2nd Water Saver Activation campaign on World Water Day

Lulu and Unilever jointly launched the 2nd Water Saver Activation campaign with an aim to create awareness about water conservation. The launch was held on 22nd March 2014, World Water Day, at Lulu Hypermarket, Al Barsha. The Water Saver Campaign was conceptualized two years ago as part of Unilever’s Sustainability Program.
Lulu is Unilever’s biggest partner in the Gulf for this campaign that focuses on engaging shoppers and highlighting products that help reduce water usage at least by 50%. Mr. Arigit Ghose, Managing Director, Unilever Gulf, said that the campaign was launched to create awareness about the importance of conserving water and that little changes in habits could help everyone do their bit towards this cause.
Various methods for conserving water and reducing its usage in daily life were discussed at the launch and participants were encouraged to share these tips with family and friends. Mr. Thamban, Regional Manager - Lulu Group (Dubai & N.E.), said, “Water is a common resource. Let us use it more intelligently and waste less, so that all get a fair share. Changing behaviours is one of the biggest challenges we face in our society. Let’s aim to change behaviours and encourage water conservation."
Customers were given the opportunity to share their various views and methods on conserving water at the event. A drawing competition was also held as part of the event and prizes and certificates for the winners were distributed at the venue.
